PERU!

This trip is for men & women seeking a once in a lifetime adventure! Witnessing Peru and it's landscape is one of the best things I have ever done. Macchu Piccu lives up to the hype and is even better than you can imagine in person! The small villages in the Andes mountains will teach you so many life lessons, trekking through them is one of my best memories of Peru. Sacred Valley is absolutely stunning, it's energy is healing in so many ways. Peruvian people are kind and humble, you will absolutely adore them. Peru has such rich culture as well, so this trip will tick so many boxes for those of you that choose to adventure with us!

**There will be trekking on this trip, so make sure you are up for adventure and pushing your mind and body. The high elevation is the trickiest part (up to 14k feet), but you will be so proud of yourself once you do it! It is truly incredible and makes you feel so ALIVE!

Ancascocha Trail (all meals included on the trek). You will also have porters that carry most of your belongings.

      DAY 1:

Our trek begins on a broad trail heading northward, above the west bank of the
Huarocondo River. After a challenging three-hour hike, we will reach Watt´a, a substantial pre-Inca fortress dominating the crest of a ridge at (3,800 m /12,645 ft.)
Archeologists currently excavating the site are revealing burials and occupation
levels dating all the way back to the Formative Period (2,500 years ago) up until
the enormous fortifications of the 4th century Regional Development period; a
scattering of late-period Inca structures seem like an afterthought on the top of
the highest hill. The site is classic — a defensible ridge with dominating three-
way views along intersecting valleys. After lunch we continue on our way
westward into the range and camp at (3,700 m/12,300 ft) next to a rural school
in the hamlet Native Village of Chillipawa..

     DAY 2:
Chillipahua – Ancascocha

trees of Chachacomo. This is a landscape of pastures and small +elds that cling to the
steep slopes. On the way, we +nd small villages that still keep the Incas ancient
traditions regarding agriculture, religion, music, language and others. Then, we will
continue our way up to the Accoccasa Pass (4,625 m.a.s.l.). Here, we enjoy a
breathtaking view of immense snowy peaks. We feel the full extent of the Andean sky
with its cold, dry air. Later, we enjoyed an easy descent to reach our camp in the
spacious Ancascocha Valley (4,350 m.a.s.l.), opposite the glaciers of the Cordillera
Huaynay.
*Distance: 12 Km.

Ancascocha – Inca- Quarry
After breakfast, we continue with our trek. We descend gradually at the upper valley.
Along the way, we will see the headwork of an Inca aqueduct, now abandoned; which,
carried water from the valley to the north Ancascocha above Ollantaytambo. Later on, we will reach our +nal step to 4,540 m.a.s.l. and visit the Inca sanctuary of Inti Punku (Sungate), known as the gateway to the Andes; From there, we will have a breathtaking view of Nevado Veronica (5,682 meters). After that, we will descend into the valley and the climate will become semi-tropical. We will reach the Intiwatana; this temple is located at the highest point in the area. This area was important to the Incas to make astronomical observations and for planning the agricultural year. Then, we will continue with the hike and reach Cachiccata (3,525 m). A large terrace at the edge of a huge quarry with the same name. This was an Inca city inhabited by hundreds of architects and workers of the empire. Cachiccata
can be found in buildings used for administration, housing, terraces, burial chambers
and irrigation canals. The streets were very well planned.

*Low Altitude: 2040 m. / 7000Ft.
*High Altitude: 3940 m. / 12926 Ft.

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you to embark on a fascinating tour to two of the area’s most unique sites: Maras and Moray.

First you will visit Moray, believed to have been an agricultural research center for the Inca Empire. You will see circular stone terraces that spiral down into the ground. Layer after layer, you will descend until you reach the deepest terrace at the bottom.

At Maras, you will see the salt flats, an astounding spectacle of numerous white pools of drying salt. These were used by the Incas to extract natural salt from the mountain stream and they continue to be used by the Maras community today.

Another attraction of this tour is the stunning landscape that surrounds these sites. The mountain views and agricultural fields, as well as the traditional Andean villages nearby will make this visit unforgettable. We will stop for lunch in Chinchero.

        DAY 4:

We will descend a wide Inca road, thorugh the area of the quarries. Then, we will continue downhill, cross the Urabumba river and finally arrive at the famous Sun Temple in Ollantaytambo. We will have time to explore the village temple before taking the trainthat will take us to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. Once we get to Aguas Calientes, we will check into our hotel where we will spend the night.

OCT 20th: Explore Machu Picchu!!

Machu Picchu truly lives up to it's hype and then some. It's so incredible to witness. I remember sitting there things that over 1,000 people lived in this secret mountain village and thrived. The story is so incredible and it's so amazing to hear it being in the exact spot of where it happened. Way different than just reading it in a history book. Again, the magic and education of travel will never get old!
